Collingwood Flooring Xtra is seeking a skilled and experienced Flooring Installer to join our team in Collingwood, VIC. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to work with a dedicated flooring specialist company. As a Flooring Installer, you will be responsible for installing a wide variety of flooring materials in residential and commercial properties. This role is essential to our operations, as you will directly contribute to delivering high-quality results that reflect our company's reputation for excellence and craftsmanship.
What you'll be doing
- Installing various types of flooring materials including timber, laminate, vinyl, ceramic tiles and carpet to residential and commercial specifications
- Preparing and levelling subfloors to ensure proper installation and longevity of flooring products
- Measuring and cutting flooring materials with precision to fit specific spaces and requirements
- Using industry-standard tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete installations
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure installations meet design standards
- Ensuring work sites are kept clean, safe and free from hazards in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Inspecting completed work to verify quality and making adjustments where necessary
- Communicating with customers to understand their requirements and address any concerns
- Maintaining records of completed work and materials used
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Flooring Installer with a demonstrable track record of successful installations across multiple flooring types
- Full understanding of flooring installation techniques, methods and industry best practices
- Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in flooring installation
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation specifications accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, finished work
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various positions, including bending, kneeling and standing for extended periods
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address site-specific challenges
- Valid driver's license and reliable transport to attend job sites across the region
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and codes of practice within the building trades
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Preferred: Relevant qualifications or certifications in flooring installation or completion of apprenticeship training
