Manufacturing & Operations Manager in Toowoomba

Flexshield is looking for a capable and hands‐on Manufacturing & Operations Manager to take ownership of our Toowoomba manufacturing and warehouse operations.

For more than 25 years, Flexshield has been a trusted Australian manufacturer of industrial noise control solutions. Proudly family‐owned and operated, we design and manufacture our products locally from our Toowoomba facility and deliver acoustic solutions across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for the day‐to‐day leadership and performance of our manufacturing, warehouse and operational activities. This is a hands‐on leadership role. While you'll lead the team and manage performance, you'll also spend time on the factory floor working alongside your team, solving problems, supporting production and ensuring work moves efficiently through the manufacturing process.

You'll be involved in everything from production planning and workflow through to equipment, quality, inventory, dispatch and continuous improvement. We're looking for someone who understands manufacturing, isn't afraid to get their hands dirty when needed, and enjoys building a productive, accountable team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead Manufacturing Operations
  • Take ownership of the daily manufacturing operation, ensuring people, equipment, materials and production schedules are aligned to meet customer requirements.
  • Work closely with the team on the factory floor to keep production running smoothly, resolve issues as they arise and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Planning and coordinating daily production activities.
  • Managing production priorities, workflow and deadlines.
  • Optimising labour, machinery and material utilisation.
  • Monitoring production output and identifying bottlenecks.
  • Supporting preventative maintenance and equipment reliability.
  • Working alongside the team to support production when required.
• Own Warehouse & Logistics
  • Receiving and storage.
  • Inventory management and stock accuracy.
  • Picking and packing.
  • Dispatch and freight coordination.
  • Material flow between warehouse and manufacturing.
  • Stock planning and replenishment.
• Lead & Develop the Team
  • Lead, mentor and develop manufacturing and warehouse staff.
  • Set clear performance expectations.
  • Manage workforce planning and labour requirements.
  • Lead by example and be prepared to get involved when required.
• Drive Improvement
  • Improve efficiency, workflow and productivity.
  • Reduce downtime, waste and rework.
  • Implement better systems, processes and reporting.
• Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure the factory and warehouse operate safely and in accordance with relevant WHS requirements, procedures and quality standards.
  • Support Flexshield's management systems and compliance requirements.

What We're Looking For

You may currently be working as a:

• Manufacturing Manager
• Factory Manager
• Operations Manager
• Production Supervisor ready to step up

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience leading manufacturing or production operations.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment and production workflow.
• Strong people leadership and team management skills.
• Experience with inventory and warehouse management.
• Sound knowledge of WHS requirements.
• Roll forming or sheet‐metal manufacturing experience.
• Fabrication or relevant trade background.
• Experience implementing Lean, 5S or continuous improvement initiatives.
