Take ownership. Drive performance. Make a commercial impact.

Are you a commercially savvy Transport Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, knows how to get the best out of people and understands that great transport operations are about more than simply moving freight?

We're looking for a driven, down-to-earth and solutions-focused leader to take accountability for transport operations across NSW and Queensland.

This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for someone who brings a strong sense of urgency, sound commercial judgement and the ability to turn operational challenges into measurable business outcomes.

Working closely with the Executive Team and National Commercial Manager, you'll play a key role in improving service delivery, strengthening customer relationships, controlling costs and identifying opportunities for sustainable operational growth.

The Opportunity

Based from the Bella Vista office, you will lead day-to-day transport operations across NSW and Queensland, overseeing the Sydney operations team and coordinating Queensland subcontractor networks.

You'll have the autonomy to make operational decisions within your delegated authority, with the support of an experienced executive team.

This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable managing the detail on the ground, leading a team and understanding the commercial impact of every operational decision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily transport operations across NSW and Queensland, ensuring reliable, efficient and responsive service delivery.
  • Oversee bookings, dispatch, fleet control, job allocation, collections, deliveries and proof-of-delivery processes.
  • Manage owner‑drivers, subcontractors and external transport partners to ensure capacity, compliance, reliability and cost effectiveness.
  • Take ownership of customer relationships, resolving service issues promptly and maintaining high service standards.
  • Monitor operational performance, productivity, carrier costs, fleet utilisation and job profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce unnecessary costs, increase productivity and grow customer freight volumes.
  • Lead, coach and develop fleet controllers, customer service personnel and operational support staff.
  • Implement practical systems, procedures and reporting to improve accountability, consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with Chain of Responsibility, NHVR, WHS and applicable road transport requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Team and National Commercial Manager to support customer retention and profitable growth.

  • A practical, hands‑on and down‑to‑earth leadership style.
  • Strong systems, reporting and process improvement capabilities.
  • A sound understanding of transport safety, compliance and Chain of Responsibility obligations.

We want someone who brings energy, accountability and commercial awareness to the role.

You can build strong relationships while maintaining standards, challenging inefficiencies and driving continuous improvement.
