You will join Fitch's International Public Finance team, leading a small group of analysts focused on the ex-China Asia-Pacific region. The team is responsible for the credit analysis and ratings of local and regional governments (LRGs) and government-related entities (GREs), with meaningful visibility across global capital markets.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Manage and develop a small team of analysts covering ex-China public finance credits, providing leadership, mentorship, and quality oversight to support the team's analytical output and professional growth.
- Lead the credit analysis and surveillance of your own portfolio of LRG and GRE credits, producing high-quality, forward-looking rating recommendations and research in line with Fitch's methodologies.
- Present and defend rating recommendations in rating committees, contributing sound analytical judgment and sector expertise to the committee process.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with issuers, investors, and market participants across the Asia-Pacific region, representing Fitch at meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Produce timely, insightful research and commentary that enhances Fitch's visibility and thought leadership in the regional public finance market.
You May be a Good Fit if:
- More than 10 years of relevant experience in credit analysis, public finance, or a related field (candidates with less experience may be considered at a commensurate level).
- Possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated expertise in sub-sovereign, or public finance credit analysis.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring analysts.
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Prior experience covering Australian and/or New Zealand local and regional governments, or comparable sub-sovereign/public finance experience in other Asia-Pacific markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis clearly to a range of audiences.
- A collaborative, "challenger" mindset and the ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
