First Line Engineering are seeking an experiencedStructural Steel Detailerwith strongTekla Structuresexpertise to join their team in Yatala QLD.
This role offers the chance to work on diverse and technically challenging projects in a supportive, collaborative environment. You'll be using your Tekla Structures skills to produce accurate drawings and documentation, while working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures.
Review and interpret architectural and structural documentation.
Manage multiple drafting projects from start to finish.
Generate NC data, shop drawings, and reports for fabrication.
Maintain drawing registers and ensure compliance with standards.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to resolve queries.
Participate in project meetings and attend site visits as required.
Mentor and support junior drafters when needed.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in structural steel detailing across industrial, commercial & residential projects.
Proficiency in Tekla Structures, Tekla Model Sharing and Trimble Connect
Utilizing Point Clouds within Tekla Structures to generate existing structures.
Strong ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
Current Driver's Licence and White Card (or willingness to obtain).
Background in steel fabrication and detailing across varied project types.
Trade or tertiary qualifications in engineering, drafting, or construction.
5+ years experience in the Australian steel/construction industry.
3D Scanning and site set-out using Trimble equipment & FieldLink software.
