We are currently seeking a Software Developer with Rust programming language to modernise legacy scientific modelling software into a modern, maintainable programming language - such as C++ or Python.
Skills and Experience
- Software Developer background
- Rust programming language experience
- Experience modernising legacy scientific modelling software into programming languages such as C++ or Python.
- Experience analysing complex, legacy scientific modelling algorithms & business logic.
- Experience applying university-level mathematics and statistics to ensure the integrity & accuracy of scientific models during the migration process.
- Experience designing, writing, and implementing comprehensive automated testing
- Experience in C++ OR Python - including working with scientific libraries such as NumPy or SciPy.
- Background in university-level mathematics & statistics including the ability to translate complex algorithms.
- Experience in Software Engineering Best Practices including modern software development lifecycles, version control, continuous integration & automated testing.
- Experience with C# or other Microsoft-based development tools.
- Experience working on scientific, environmental or data-heavy modelling
