$150k + Super | Flexible Working Hours | Hands-on Leadership Opportunity

Are you an experienced HSEQ professional who enjoys being out on site, working alongside operational teams and seeing the improvements you introduce make a difference? FindMeA is partnering with an established organisation in Brisbane's industrial sector to recruit a HSEQ Manager for its Hemmant operation. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a site's HSEQ function, develop and strengthen existing frameworks, and play an active role in shaping how safety, environmental compliance and quality are managed.

We're looking for someone who brings both technical knowledge and a practical approach. Someone who can develop the right systems and procedures, but is just as comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working alongside the team to put them into practice. Whether you're an established HSEQ Manager or an experienced Senior Advisor or Supervisor ready for greater responsibility, we'd love to hear from you.

What's on offer?

  • $150k + super
  • Permanent, full-time opportunity based exclusively in Hemmant
  • Flexible working hours
  • Ownership of site HSEQ frameworks, systems and improvements
  • Opportunity to introduce your ideas and make a visible impact on day to day operations
  • Be a part of a small, hardworking team with a down to earth workplace culture
  • Ongoing professional development, training opportunities and study support
  • Generous paid parental leave, Employee Assistance Program and employee benefits

The Opportunity

This is a role for someone who enjoys being involved. You’ll take responsibility for developing, implementing and improving HSEQ systems across a busy industrial operation, working closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure those systems are practical, understood and followed. You’ll have the autonomy to bring your experience and ideas to the table, while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day activities of the site. The business is looking for someone who leads by example, builds relationships and takes pride in seeing improvements through from start to finish.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining practical HSEQ frameworks, policies and procedures
  • Working alongside production and maintenance teams to identify risks and improve workplace practices
  • Leading incident investigations, risk assessments, site inspections and audits
  • Managing WHS compliance, reporting, registers and relevant documentation
  • Supporting environmental compliance, quality management and ISO accreditation requirements
  • Coaching operational leaders and employees to strengthen safety awareness and accountability
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and taking an active role in implementing solutions
  • Building strong working relationships across the site and encouraging a positive, proactive safety culture

To be successful in this role:

You’ll be someone who knows their way around a high-risk industrial environment and enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operations. You’re confident in your technical knowledge, but equally comfortable working alongside the people who put safety practices into action.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in HSEQ, HSE or WHS within manufacturing, processing or another high-risk industrial environment
  • A sound understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, incident investigations and compliance requirements
  • Experience developing, implementing or improving safety systems, procedures and workplace practices
  • The confidence to engage with operational teams, challenge existing practices and influence positive change
  • An understanding of environmental compliance, quality management and relevant ISO standards
  • Relevant qualifications in WHS, HSEQ or a related discipline

Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who leads from the front. You’re approachable, resilient and comfortable having direct conversations. You enjoy working with a close-knit team, don't mind getting your hands dirty and know when to have a laugh. Experience in manufacturing, processing, recycling or waste management would be highly regarded, although candidates from other high-risk industrial environments are encouraged to apply.

Who should apply?

We’d love to hear from established HSEQ Managers who enjoy operational leadership and are looking for an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a site’s HSEQ function. We’re equally interested in experienced Senior HSE Advisors, Senior WHS Advisors and HSEQ Supervisors who have the technical capability, initiative and confidence to take the next step in their careers. Ultimately, it’s your experience, approach and ability to make things happen that will matter most.

Interested?

If you’re looking for an opportunity where your experience is valued, your ideas are welcomed and you can see the difference your work makes, we’d love to hear from you.
