Role Overview

Finder is one of the most-quoted consumer finance voices in Australian media, and our PR team is why.

We're looking for a media relations pro to join the team for 12 months while one of our PR Managers is on parental leave.

You'll pitch stories daily, turn Finder's data into headlines, and build and leverage relationships with journalists, producers and influencers across news, TV, radio and digital, as well as partner organisations that publish their own content.

The aim is to drive traffic to Finder and grow the brand.

You'll report to the Head of PR & Insights and collaborate closely with our publishing and editorial teams.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Running daily pitching to Australian media, from first pitch through to follow-up.
  • Writing, reviewing and scheduling 2-3 media releases a week.
  • Fact-checking pitches and deciding which outlets and journalists to target.
  • Responding to 20-40 media enquiries a month, working alongside the PR & Insights team.
  • Keeping our media list current using Telum and other sources, tracking new faces and role changes.
  • Helping shape the questions for our monthly Consumer Sentiment Tracker and the Finder RBA Cash Rate survey, then turning the findings into releases.
  • Weaving Finder Award winners into media releases, coordinating co-branded releases and quotes, and supporting the Finder Awards event in March 2027.
  • Helping with social and video content, including opportunities to be on camera and act as a Finder spokesperson.
  • Tracking and reporting coverage in top-tier and online media.
  • Publishing consumer and corporate news releases on finder. com. au.

Essential Requirements

  • 3 years+ experience in media relations, ideally in-house or at an agency.
  • Established relationships with Australian media.
  • Strong writing skills, with clear, engaging and original copy and a nose for a story.
  • Sharp attention to detail and a quality-control mindset.
  • Comfort juggling multiple deadlines in a fast-moving newsroom-style environment.
  • Experience working with lots of stakeholders and managing external partners or events.
  • A degree in PR, journalism, communications or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A proactive, can-do approach and enthusiasm for working as part of a tight team.
  • Nice to have
  • Knowledge of personal finance, utilities or insurance.
  • Experience with consumer research or surveys.
  • Awards programme or social media experience.
  • Familiarity with Word Press or a similar CMS.
  • Confidence on camera or experience as a media spokesperson.

  • Free daily lunch in the office
  • Generous gender-neutral parental leave (up to 16 weeks in Australia)
