Guided by our values of Truth, Trust, Respect and Kindness, we create an environment where every team member feels connected, supported and valued, while being encouraged to stretch beyond their current capabilities, embrace development and contribute to an enhanced client experience.

We believe connection is the foundation of effective support.

Through genuine human connection, we establish an environment where people feel safe, understood, respected and valued. It is within this environment that trust develops, opportunities emerge and individuals can begin to explore their potential.

Our role is not simply to support people through their day, but to create the conditions that enable us to further enhance their world – expanding opportunities, strengthening independence, encouraging meaningful participation and improving their quality of life.

Every interaction is an opportunity to build connection, every relationship creates the potential for growth, and every person deserves the opportunity to experience a life that is meaningful to them.

About the Role

We are seeking dedicated Complex Psychosocial Behaviour Support Team Members to join us!

You will support individuals with complex intellectual disabilities, psychosocial needs and significant behaviours of concern, working within a structured, contained environment.

This is a highly rewarding position that requires empathy, emotional intelligence, resilience, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

We are looking for people who understand that effective support goes beyond managing behaviours. It requires the ability to establish connection, build trust, recognise individual needs and create an environment where people feel safe enough to develop, participate and experience greater opportunities in their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support to people with complex needs, including trauma-related needs, intellectual disabilities, autism, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
  • Build meaningful relationships through consistency, trust and genuine human connection.
  • Apply de-escalation and conflict resolution strategies to defuse potentially hostile situations and prevent escalation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and evaluate current and potential situations.
  • Think critically and make considered decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver tailored support in a safe, structured environment.
  • Recognise opportunities to build capability, encourage participation and further enhance the lives of the people we support.

Roster Requirements

This position operates on a rotating roster covering morning, afternoon and active night shifts.

56 hours per fortnight across 7 x 8-hour shifts.

You must be able to commit to all three shift types on a rolling roster. These requirements are non-negotiable.

Afternoon Shift: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Active Night Shift: 10:00 pm – 6:00 am

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in Individual Support, Mental Health, Youth Work or other related disciplines is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to assess risk and make considered decisions.
  • A genuine interest in understanding complex needs and developing meaningful connections.
  • Willingness, availability and commitment to complete Fina's 10-day internal training program.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Current Blue Card and Yellow Card.

Your Development Starts Here

At Fina, we don't expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect a willingness to learn, contribute and develop.

Our internal 10-day training program provides the foundations for the role, combining knowledge, practical skills and an understanding of the individuals you will support.

Through ongoing connection, shared knowledge and practical experience, you will have the opportunity to build your confidence and capability within a specialised support environment.

Ready to Make a Difference?

Your next opportunity starts with connection.

We look forward to welcoming people who share our commitment to enhancing the lives of those we support.

Join Fina and become part of a team where your contribution matters, your development is valued and the work you do has the potential to make a lasting difference.
