We are currently seeking an experienced MIG Welder / Mild Steel Fabricator to join a busy workshop based in Smithfield.
This role is ideal for a reliable, hands-on tradesperson with strong mild steel fabrication skills, experience welding 6mm fillet welds, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld mild steel components independently.
- Perform MIG welding, including 6mm fillet welds.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering plans.
- Measure, cut, handle and position mild steel materials.
- Ensure welds meet required quality and workmanship standards.
- Operate workshop tools and equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
About You
- Previous experience in MIG welding and mild steel fabrication.
- Confident performing 6mm fillet welds.
- Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Full PPE, including welding helmet, gloves and steel-cap boots.
- Own vehicle or reliable transport preferred.
