We are seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Business Manager – Security Operations Centre (SOC) to join our leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced security professional who brings more than technical knowledge. We are looking for someone who can confidently lead teams, manage complex client relationships, navigate operational challenges and drive meaningful improvements across our Security Operations Centre.

Significant hands‑on experience with Patriot Security Monitoring Software is essential for this position.

The Opportunity

Reporting to our SOC Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the day‑to‑day effectiveness of our Security Operations Centre while building strong, trusted relationships with our clients and security bureau partners.

You will be a key connection between our operational teams, clients and senior leadership, ensuring we consistently deliver responsive, professional and reliable security monitoring services.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being accountable, takes ownership of outcomes and knows how to balance the demands of operational performance, people leadership and client satisfaction.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Leading People and Driving Performance

• Provide confident, visible and supportive leadership to our SOC Operators and Team Leaders.

• Build a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture.

• Coach, mentor and develop team members to strengthen capability, engagement and operational performance.

• Support effective workforce planning, rostering and resource allocation to maintain operational continuity.

• Lead by example in managing challenging situations, resolving issues and maintaining professional standards.

Building Exceptional Client Relationships

• Act as a key relationship manager for our security bureau partners and direct clients.

• Establish and maintain trusted, long‑term relationships through proactive engagement and exceptional service delivery.

• Lead regular client meetings, performance reviews and operational discussions.

• Manage escalated client matters with professionalism, sound judgement and a solutions-focused approach.

• Identify opportunities to improve client satisfaction, strengthen retention and enhance service delivery.

• Take ownership of client reporting, service performance and follow‑through on agreed actions.

Driving Operational Excellence

• Oversee SOC workflows, alarm monitoring processes, event management and escalation procedures.

• Ensure operational activities are delivered accurately, efficiently and in accordance with established procedures.

• Identify service delivery risks, recurring issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Work collaboratively with the SOC Manager and broader leadership team to strengthen systems, processes and operational outcomes.

• Support operational reporting, compliance activities and incident investigations.

Applying Your Patriot Expertise

• Utilise your extensive practical experience with Patriot Security Monitoring Software to support effective SOC operations.

• Troubleshoot system issues, maintain panel templates and support system configuration and optimisation.

• Ensure data integrity, operational accuracy and effective integration with relevant monitoring and communication platforms.

• Work with internal teams and external technical providers to resolve issues and implement improvements.

• Support the development of team capability and best practice in Patriot system utilisation.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an established security operations professional with the confidence, capability and interpersonal skills to make a genuine impact.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Essential: Significant hands‑on experience with Patriot Security Monitoring Software, including its application within a security monitoring or control room environment.

• Essential: Demonstrated leadership experience managing, developing and driving performance across operational teams, ideally within a Security Operations Centre or security monitoring environment.

• Essential: Extensive client relationship management experience, including managing key accounts, client expectations, escalations and ongoing service delivery.

• Strong understanding of security monitoring operations, alarm response protocols, incident management and operational compliance.

• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced, time‑critical environment.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills.

• Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence outcomes and maintain professional relationships at all levels.

• A proactive, commercially aware and improvement‑focused approach to operational leadership.

• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and accountability for outcomes.

Experience working with third‑party alarm communication platforms such as Permaconn, Multipath, Actuate or similar systems will be highly regarded.
