Key Responsibilities
- Partner with key stakeholders across the hotel, providing sound business advice, break-even analysis and commercial support, including attending Owners meetings as required
- Prepare and assist with drive budgets, forecasts and variance analysis, and create action plans to deliver improvements
- Assist with daily, weekly and monthly reporting, including revenue and F&B trackers, revenue forecasts, payroll reporting and food and beverage cost of sales analysis
- Maintain the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, and submit monthly, half-yearly and yearly reporting on time
- Implement and maintain internal controls across cash, debtors, stock, purchasing and accounts payable, with a disciplined focus on cost control
- Coach and develop the finance and business support team, and champion dashboard use across all department heads
- What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience working in an assistant finically role ideally in hotels or hospitality.
- Operational finance and commercial focus, with the ability to give practical business advice to General Managers, department heads and owners.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and break-even analysis
- Solid knowledge of general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting
- Understanding of internal controls, credit policy and purchasing and accounts payable procedures
- Awareness of payroll controls, award provisions, visa restrictions and tax legislation
- Ability to coach and develop a team and build strong working relationships across the hotel
