Communications Coordinator, Travel - EVT Head Office

About EVT: At EVT we believe in changing the game. Why? Because no one wants ordinary. If you're seeking to be part of the kind of wow-factor moments you can help shape, then you've come to the right place.

As market-leading experience creators, we bring to life some of the best-known brands and properties in entertainment, ventures, and travel. Our portfolio includes over 140 entertainment experiences like Event Cinemas and Moonlight Cinemas, 150 award-winning restaurants and bars, and 80+ hotels, including QT, Rydges, Atura, LyLo, and Thredbo. Our ventures include a ~$2.3B property portfolio and hotel management, just to name a few.

Key Responsibilities

  • Storytelling: Research and write multiple stories per week for the travel brand websites, balancing speed, accuracy and tone of voice to a regular publishing schedule
  • Timely content: Support the GM Communications Travel to monitor news, trends, events and seasonal moments to identify story opportunities that are relevant to our brands and our audiences
  • Search and visibility: Apply search-friendly writing practices such as clear headlines, keywords, meta descriptions and internal links, and review what performs well to shape future stories
  • Awards preparation: Support the GM Communications - Travel to research, write and coordinate awards entries, managing briefs, deadlines and judging criteria from start to finish
  • Sourcing information: Gather facts, quotes, offers and approvals from hotel teams and other parts of the business, and check every detail before publishing
  • Publishing: Load and format stories in the website content management system, including headings, links and images
  • Listicle placements: Support the GM Communications Travel to identify relevant third-party listicles, best-of lists and travel roundups, supply accurate brand information, images and offers to editors and writers, and track placements and their results
  • PR support: Assist with media releases, announcements, case studies and internal updates as opportunities arise
  • Reporting: Track story performance, such as traffic and engagement, and share simple insights with the team
  • Asset curation: Help maintain files and photo library, keeping folders current, well-organised and easy to search, and identifying high-quality images that bring our stories to life

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong, clear writing: Able to write accurate, engaging copy quickly, in a consistent tone of voice and to a deadline. A degree in communications, journalism, PR, marketing or a related field, or relevant internship or work experience, is preferred.
  • News sense: Curious about what is happening in travel, hospitality and the wider world, with a good instinct for what makes a story timely and worth telling
  • Proactive, can-do attitude: Anticipates needs, takes initiative and finds solutions without waiting to be asked
  • Research and follow through: Able to research opportunities such as lists, publications and awards, and to chase information and close out actions to meet deadlines
  • Confident collaborator: Comfortable working with Brand Managers and approaching people at all levels to gather data, insights and input
  • Adaptable and responsive: Flexible and agile in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Comfortable moving between projects and picking up whatever is needed to keep things moving
  • Organised and efficient: Able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver to a high standard under pressure
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous with facts, figures, grammar and deadlines.
  • Discretion: Trusted to handle confidential and sensitive information with care
  • Interest in communications and hospitality: Genuine enthusiasm for strategic communications, brand and the travel and hospitality industry
  • Digital awareness: Basic understanding of website content and search optimisation. Experience with a content management system or analytics tools is a bonus, but not essential
