About the role:
This is a hands-on role in a warehouse environment, not a traditional lab position.
You’ll work with a wide range of industrial chemicals, learning from experienced chemists and operators. Your main focus will be safely identifying, classifying and preparing chemicals for treatment.
We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Duties:
- Sort and classify incoming packaged chemical waste
- Assist with identifying unknown chemicals through testing procedures
- Safely handle, decant and prepare chemicals for disposal
- Pack laboratory chemicals for destruction
- Work closely with operators, drivers and site personnel to ensure safe chemical handling
- Follow strict safety procedures and wear PPE including respirators, chemical suits and face shields where required
- Assist with general warehouse and manual handling duties
Experience required:
- Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Genuine interest in hands‑on industrial chemistry
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Comfortable working in PPE and a warehouse environment
- Physically capable of manual handling tasks
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, retail or hospitality experience will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling is advantageous but not essential
