Evolution Precast Systems is seeking a motivated, hardworking and reliable Metal Fabricator to join our Evo Steel production team in Bennetts Green NSW. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual with experience in metal fabrication and steel fixing who takes pride in producing high-quality work while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace health, safety and quality standards.
Working within our production environment, you will be responsible for preparing, cutting, shaping and assembling steel reinforcement and components used in precast concrete manufacturing. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure production targets are achieved, deadlines are met and processes are continually improved.
Experience within the precast concrete industry is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for but not limited to:
- Reading and interpreting engineering and architectural drawings
- Using hand and power tools to cut, shape and bend steel bars and mesh
- Laying out steel bars, mesh and framework
- Fixing steel bars and mesh to solid concrete bases
- Joining steel sections using various welding techniques
- Using rebar to build casts for the purpose of setting concrete in place
- Preparing concrete and pouring into the prepared moulds
- Planning and preparing steel stock for production
- Working to a high standard and meeting deadlines
- Work safely: identify and raise risk management (WHSEQ) issues on an on-going basis in relation to area of responsibility.
- Attend daily toolbox meetings
- Assist the Operations Manager with Ad-hoc tasks.
- Drive and assist positive change with process improvement initiatives throughout the business.
- Ensure processes are delivering intended outcomes.
- Ensure the integrity of the quality, safety and environment management systems are maintained
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience working in metal fabrication and steel fixing
- Experience working within the production of precast concrete industry preferred but not essential
- Can read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings
- Must be hardworking and reliable
- Ability to work in a team environment and alone
- Good physical fitness
- Sense of urgency, result (deadline and quality) driven, with exceptional organisational and multi-tasking skills.
- Motivated individual with the ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
- Excellent time management skills, the ability to be proactive and perform multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, and the ability to function within an environment that is "hands on".
Pay: $41.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38.0 per week
