EOS operates on the global stage and is a well-established member of the international defense and space communities.
Job Summary
EOS is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to provide end-to-end delivery leadership for assigned defence projects and work packages, with a particular focus on software, systems integration and other complex technical delivery. The role translates approved customer, contractual and business commitments into an integrated, achievable plan and drives coordinated execution across Engineering, Software, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial, Finance and Product Support.
The Delivery Manager creates structure and delivery predictability in complex and changing environments by establishing credible plans, maintaining visibility of dependencies and critical delivery paths, identifying emerging variance early, and driving decisions, recovery actions and escalation.
The successful candidate will combine practical delivery experience with sound judgement and a strong understanding of project and technical delivery disciplines. They will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves, creating structure where it is lacking and driving multidisciplinary teams toward tangible delivery outcomes.
Primary duties
The Delivery Manager is accountable for the planning, coordination and execution of assigned work packages across one or more functions, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality and acceptance requirements.
The role coordinates cross-functional activities and dependencies, including software development, verification and release activities where applicable, monitors performance, resolves delivery blockers, drives recovery actions and escalates matters requiring Project Manager or functional leadership decisions.
The Delivery Manager drives clarity, pace and accountability while functional leaders retain responsibility for specialist integrity and approvals, and the Project Manager retains accountability for the overall project outcome.
Key Responsibilities
Plan assigned work packages: Translate agreed scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria, assumptions and constraints into executable plans, including activities, milestones, dependencies, resources and forecasts.
Drive execution: Coordinate activities across one or more functions to ensure work is sequenced, interfaces are managed and deliverables are completed to agreed requirements.
Monitor delivery performance: Maintain clear visibility of actual and forecast performance, including work completed, work remaining, critical dependencies, integration readiness, verification status and forecast completion, identifying emerging variance early.
Manage dependencies and blockers: Identify and resolve cross-functional dependencies, including software, hardware, interface, environment, test and configuration dependencies, escalating matters requiring Project Manager or functional leadership intervention.
Drive recovery: Develop and coordinate recovery actions where performance deviates from plan, maintaining ownership and momentum through to resolution.
Manage package-level risks and issues: Maintain visibility of risks, issues and actions affecting assigned work packages, ensuring clear ownership, mitigation and timely escalation.
Coordinate change impacts: Assess and communicate the delivery impact of proposed changes and ensure approved changes are reflected in work-package plans and forecasts.
Maintain delivery governance: Lead work-package reviews, maintain actions and decisions, and provide concise, evidence-based reporting on status, forecast, variance and required decisions.
Support acceptance and handover: Coordinate required reviews, evidence, documentation, approvals and readiness activities to support successful completion, acceptance and handover.
Improve delivery performance: Capture lessons, address recurring delivery constraints and implement practical improvements to planning, coordination and execution.
Measures of Success
Assigned work packages achieve agreed delivery and acceptance outcomes, with credible forecasts of completion.
Delivery plans provide clear visibility of work remaining, dependencies, constraints and critical delivery milestones.
Software, systems, test and other cross-functional dependencies are identified and actively managed before they impact delivery.
Delivery variance and blockers result in timely action, recovery or escalation, rather than late surprises.
Execution discipline and delivery predictability measurably improve across assigned work packages
