We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to combine hands-on field maintenance and repairs with fleet maintenance planning and coordination.
Our equipment includes high-pressure water pumps, heavy diesel engines, vacuum trucks, hydraulic power packs and associated industrial equipment.
This role suits a practical, organised mechanic who enjoys fault finding and repairs, while also taking ownership of maintenance schedules, equipment records and repair coordination.
Responsibilities
- Service, inspect, diagnose and repair heavy diesel equipment, high-pressure water pumps, vacuum trucks and hydraulic power packs
- Source parts, obtain quotations and coordinate specialist contractors and external repairs
- Work with supervisors and operators to prioritise repairs and arrange equipment availability
- Maintain service histories, maintenance schedules and defect registers
Experience Requirements
- Relevant heavy diesel or heavy vehicle mechanical trade qualification
- Strong experience in diesel engine diagnostics, servicing and repairs
- Experience with hydraulic systems and industrial equipment
- Current driver's licence.
Anticipated Skills (desirable)
- Experience maintaining high-pressure water pumps (triplex positive displacement), vacuum trucks and hydraulic power packs
- Electrical diagnostic and fault-finding skills, particularly equipment wiring, sensors and control circuits
- HR driver's license
- Comfortable using computers for maintenance records, parts ordering, emails and scheduling
