Civil Project Manager

Overview Are you an experienced Project Manager ready to take the lead on one of Victoria's most significant transmission and distribution builds? Our client is a leading EPC contractor specialising in major transmission and distribution infrastructure projects across Australia, with a strong track record of delivering complex, high value substation and network builds safely and on time. They are now seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead the delivery of a substation construction project in rural Victoria.

This is a unique opportunity to take on a hands on leadership role with a business that backs its people with the resources, autonomy, and support to get the job done right. If you thrive in a site based environment and are confident managing electrical, civil, and structural works, this role gives you the platform to make a real impact.

Responsibilities As the Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead the site based delivery of substation construction works from mobilisation through to completion
  • Manage programme, cost, quality, and safety across all work fronts
  • Coordinate electrical, civil, and structural scopes of work
  • Act as the key point of contact for client and stakeholder management
  • Oversee subcontractors and supply chain to ensure smooth project progression
  • Identify and resolve risks and issues proactively to avoid project delays
  • Support commissioning activities and project close out

Qualifications To excel in this role, you will need:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in project management within transmission and distribution or broader energy infrastructure
  • A strong electrical background, with solid working knowledge of civil and structural works
  • Proven experience in EPC contracting
  • Substation project experience (highly regarded)
  • The ability to work effectively in a rural, site based environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Flexibility to work on a roster based schedule or Monday to Friday, depending on your preference

Day-to-Day Your typical day will involve:

  • Overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
  • Monitoring project progress and addressing any issues that arise
  • Coordinating with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to maintain alignment on project goals
  • Communicating with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns
  • Managing subcontractors and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services
  • Conducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with project specifications

Benefits

  • Opportunity to lead a significant energy infrastructure project with a reputable EPC contractor
  • Autonomy to manage the project on site while being supported by a well established organisation
  • Flexible roster arrangements to suit your lifestyle
  • Competitive remuneration package
  • Gain valuable experience in delivering complex transmission and distribution projects
  • Be part of a company that values its people and invests in their professional growth

If you are ready to take the next step in your career and contribute to a critical infrastructure project. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
