Residential Youth Worker and Disability Support Worker
Staff on Standby is a Gold Coast based labour hire and support provider. We supply qualified support workers to residential care and disability services across the Gold Coast, Logan, Ipswich and Brisbane south, and we’re growing.
About the role
We’re looking for casual support workers who can do both kinds of work we offer:
- Residential youth work: supporting young people living in residential care, including day shifts, evenings, active nights and sleepovers.
- Disability support: helping people with daily living, personal care and getting out into the community.
That mix is what makes our team different, and it means more variety and more shifts for you.
What we offer
- $45.28 per hour on weekdays, with higher rates for afternoons, nights, Saturdays ($63.39), Sundays ($81.50) and public holidays (SCHADS Award, casual).
- Superannuation, plus a kilometre allowance when you use your car on shift.
- Free training once you join, including Hope and Healing and behaviour support.
- Flexible casual work: choose the shifts that suit you.
- A supportive team and regular supervision.
What you’ll need
- A completed Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability, Child Youth and Family Intervention, or similar. If you’re currently enrolled and working towards one of these, we’d still love to hear from you.
- A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check). NDIS Worker Screening as well, or be willing to apply and we’ll guide you.
- A National Police Check issued in the last 6 months.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- An open (unrestricted) QLD driver’s licence and a reliable car.
- Flexible availability, including nights, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays.
Highly regarded
- An LCS2 clearance (the Child Safety check for residential care). Please mention it when you apply.
- Experience in residential care, out of home care or disability support.
