The Brief
Emu Search is partnering with a substantial manufacturing business in Far North Queensland to appoint a Finance Director at a pivotal stage of its development.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a hands-on executive leadership role with responsibility across Finance, Procurement and IT, supporting a multi-site manufacturing operation.
The Role
The mandate goes well beyond financial reporting. You'll work closely with operational leaders to strengthen commercial decision-making, improve cost visibility and build a finance function that genuinely influences business performance.
Your priorities will include:
- Driving manufacturing cost accuracy, inventory integrity and financial control.
- Translating production economics, margins and operational performance into actionable commercial insight.
- Strengthening budgeting, forecasting, working capital and management reporting.
- Partnering with operational leadership to identify efficiencies and improve profitability.
- Developing team capability and embedding sustainable financial disciplines.
What we're looking for
An experienced Finance Director, GM Finance or senior finance leader with deep technical capability in cost accounting, inventory valuation and operational finance.
You'll be commercially astute, comfortable challenging assumptions and equally capable in the boardroom and on the factory floor.
This is not a role for someone who leads exclusively from a distance. We're looking for a finance executive who enjoys getting into the detail, developing people and making a measurable difference.
