If you’re going to work away, the roster and package need to make it worthwhile. We’re working with a well-established civil contractor that is continuing to grow its Queensland infrastructure team and is looking to bring on experienced Civil Supervisors for a strong pipeline of regional road and infrastructure projects.
The big difference here is the roster. Rather than committing to long 2:1 swings, you’ll work a 5:2 or 10:4 roster, with an attractive site uplift paid on top of your base salary while working away. It’s an opportunity to earn the additional FIFO money without giving up half your life to the roster.
What’s on offer:
- 5:2 and 10:4 rosters
- Site uplift paid on top of your base salary
- Permanent position with long-term project security
- Major road and civil infrastructure projects
- Established crews, plant and project support
- Strong pipeline of upcoming Queensland work
- Opportunity to move between projects as the infrastructure division continues to grow
- Work with an experienced delivery team that gives Supervisors genuine ownership on site
The role:
This isn’t a role where you’ll be standing on the sideline watching subcontractors do the work. You’ll be responsible for running substantial civil work fronts and keeping the job moving. Working alongside the Project Manager and engineering team, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day delivery across:
- Road construction
- Pavements
- Bulk earthworks
- Drainage and culverts
- Structures
- Associated civil infrastructure
You’ll coordinate crews, plant and subcontractors, plan upcoming work fronts, drive productivity and make sure safety, quality and programme requirements are being met. Most importantly, you’ll be trusted to run your section of the job properly.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re keen to speak with experienced Civil Supervisors who have delivered road and infrastructure projects with reputable civil contractors. You’ll ideally have experience across TMR or similar road construction projects, with a strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, pavements and general civil delivery.
You’ll also be someone who:
- Leads from the front
- Plans ahead rather than reacting to problems
- Can manage multiple crews and subcontractors
- Understands productivity and programme
- Communicates well with engineers and project management
- Takes ownership of the job without needing to be micromanaged
If you’re currently doing a heavy FIFO roster and would consider something that gives you more time at home without giving up the uplift, this is worth a conversation. Equally, if you’re currently working locally and have been considering FIFO for the right project, roster and package, it could be a very good time to make the move.
