Insolvency & Commercial Litigation Lawyer (2-4 yrs)

Insolvency & Commercial Litigation Lawyer (2–4 PAE)

Melbourne CBD | Fast‐Track Your Career

If you are a junior - mid level litigation lawyer who loves the cut‐and‐thrust of insolvency, commercial disputes and court work - and you want to learn fast - this role will accelerate your career more in 12 months than most firms do in 3 years.

You will join a respected commercial practice with a strong insolvency and disputes client base, working 1:1 with Partners and senior practitioners who genuinely invest in their lawyers. They have a long track record of mentoring and professional development - and they do it well. You will get hands‐on exposure, real responsibility and meaningful growth from day one.

The Work

  • Disputes in all courts, mediations, tribunal hearings and enforcement actions
  • Draft briefs, pleadings, correspondence and core litigation documents with guidance that actually builds your skillset
  • Manage delegated phases of litigation from commencement through to settlement or appeal
  • Attend directions hearings, adjournments and basic contested matters (with counsel)
  • Negotiate with insolvency stakeholders - liquidators, receivers, administrators, secured creditors and directors
  • Build relationships with insolvency practitioners, SMEs, financiers and commercial clients

This Role Is Perfect For An Up and Coming Litigator

  • You will be in the thick of real litigation. You won't be stuck doing peripheral tasks
  • You will learn directly from senior operators who enjoy teaching and developing junior talent
  • You will grow fast - technically, strategically and commercially
  • You will be supported, not thrown in the deep end
  • You will join a collegiate team that shares ideas, backs each other and genuinely enjoys the work

You

  • 1-4 years PAE in litigation, insolvency or commercial disputes
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Curious, proactive and ready to take ownership
  • Calm, commercial and able to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues
  • Keen to build a long‐term career in insolvency and disputes

This Team Is Worth Joining

This is a practice with depth, stability and a strong reputation - without the clunky culture that slows junior lawyers down. You will be trusted, supported and given opportunities early, with a clear pathway to becoming a confident, capable insolvency litigator.
