Agnico Eagle is a senior Canadian gold mining company producing precious metals from operations in Canada, Australia, Finland and Mexico. The company owns and operates the Fosterville Gold Mine, which is located on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, approximately 20 kilometres east of Bendigo in Central Victoria. The role involves managing the business accounting function and includes:
- Controlling monthly dual currency accounting to ensure timely completion and reporting;
- Managing the Accounts Payable team;
- Managing, mentoring and developing the finance team;
- Reviewing monthly general ledger reconciliations;
- Leading FBT compliance and reporting;
- Preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts;
- Managing quarterly and annual external audits;
- Identifying opportunities to improve the finance and reporting functions;
- Relieving the Finance Manager, as required.
Selection criteria: CPA/CA qualified, you will need substantial experience working in a senior accounting role (including management/supervision of staff) and have a strong background in mining. Knowledge of integrated accounting (ERP) systems, Pronto and Excel is required as well as knowledge of internal audit compliance procedures. Your excellent leadership and interpersonal skills will see you secure this dynamic role.
