Elements Air and Refrigeration is seeking an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician to join our dynamic team in Cairns, QLD. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of residential and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. As a key member of our technical team, you will play an essential role in maintaining, servicing, and installing cooling systems that keep our clients comfortable throughout the year. This role offers a balance of field-based work and technical problem-solving.
What you'll be doing
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults in refrigeration and air conditioning systems across residential and commercial properties
- Installing new refrigeration and air conditioning units, including pipework, electrical connections, and system commissioning
- Testing and charging refrigeration systems to verify correct operation and efficiency
- Repairing and replacing faulty components, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems
- Following all safety protocols and WorkSafe guidelines when handling refrigerants and electrical systems
- Building strong customer relationships through professional service delivery and clear communication
- Collaborating with team members and management to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to specification
What we're looking for
- Fully qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician
- Valid Restricted Electrical Work Licence
- Construction Induction White or Blue Card
- Minimum 2-3 years' hands-on experience in refrigeration and air conditioning installation, maintenance, or repair
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, pressure gauges, multimeters, and evacuation pumps
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A valid driver's licence
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
