About Jones Radiology

Jones Radiology is a proudly 100% South Australian, doctor-owned and operated practice, providing high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services across metropolitan and regional South Australia, as well as Alice Springs. With a strong focus on clinical excellence, innovation and patient care, Jones Radiology continues to invest in its people, technology and services to support its ongoing growth and deliver outstanding healthcare outcomes.

Jones Radiology is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to play a key role in financial planning, performance analysis and strategic decision-making across the business. Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Controller and operational leaders, you'll combine financial expertise with operational and revenue analytics to deliver meaningful insights, support investment decisions and influence business performance.

About the role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of key financial planning and reporting activities while providing commercial and operational insights to support decision-making across the business. Combining financial planning with operational and revenue analytics, you'll work with large datasets across financial, workforce and operational systems to understand performance at site, regional, modality and group level.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Budgeting and forecasting: Lead the annual operating and capital budget process, develop site and regional budgets, maintain the group three-way financial model and support long-term financial planning.
  • Management and Board reporting: Prepare monthly management reports and Board financial packs, delivering clear variance analysis and commentary that explains performance drivers, financial impacts and recommended actions.
  • Operational and revenue analytics: Analyse procedure volumes, fee realisation, revenue mix, pricing outcomes, workforce productivity and equipment utilisation to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Power BI and data modelling: Develop and maintain reporting dashboards, integrate operational and financial datasets, and improve the accuracy, consistency and accessibility of business reporting.
  • Commercial analysis and business cases: Prepare financial models and investment appraisals for new sites, equipment replacement, expansion opportunities, service enhancements and capital expenditure.
  • Strategic and financial support: Provide financial analysis for tenders, contract proposals, pricing decisions and market benchmarking, while supporting cash flow forecasting and lender reporting requirements.
  • Business partnering: Build trusted relationships with the Executive team and operational leaders, translating financial information into practical insights that support better commercial decisions.

What you'll bring:

You're an analytical and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys understanding the story behind the numbers. You're comfortable working with complex datasets, challenging assumptions and translating detailed analysis into insights that influence decision-making.

You'll ideally bring:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
  • CA or CPA qualifications, or progress towards them, will be well regarded.
  • At least five years' experience in financial planning and analysis, commercial finance or business analytics within a medium to large organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience across budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial variance analysis.
  • Strong financial modelling skills, including investment appraisal, three-way modelling and an understanding of key profit and loss drivers, working capital and cash flow.
  • Experience working with large operational datasets and reconciling operational performance to financial results.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query and structured data modelling.
  • Experience with Power BI or a similar business intelligence platform, including data modelling and DAX.
  • SQL skills for data extraction and transformation will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with planning tools such as TM1 or Cognos Planning Analytics, and ERP systems such as NetSuite, will be advantageous.
