Established in 1862, Nowra Public School is situated on Dharawal Country. It is centrally located in Nowra on two sites: K-2 and 3-6. The school is a vibrant learning community and draws from a diverse population with an enrolment of approximately 510 students. As well as mainstream classes, the school also has six support classes. Aboriginal students make up approximately 35% of our student population. There is a strong focus on ensuring that Aboriginal culture and history are taught throughout the school. Staff are also active members of the Nowra Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.

The school is committed to providing a welcoming environment where students are nurtured, guided, challenged and inspired to learn and create a sense of belonging. We cater for groups of, and individual students through differentiation, inclusion, extension and partnerships with stakeholders.

We have a strong focus on student wellbeing, supporting students to be safe, respectful, responsible learners.
