Ebony Interiors is a design-led custom joinery studio creating premium kitchens, wardrobes, cabinetry, doors and wall panelling for high-end Australian homes. From our showroom in Lane Cove West, we run a complete design–manufacture–installation model, backed by our own Australia–China design and production network. Our showroom is currently undergoing renovation and upgrading, with an expected opening in February.
About the role
You are the key link between a client's first enquiry and their signed contract. We supply you with qualified leads; your job is to understand what each client needs, capture their requirements clearly, and work with our dedicated designers to turn those leads into signed projects. The majority of leads are provided by us, though you will also source some yourself. This is a client-facing consultation and sales role, not a design role.
Key responsibilities
- Follow up and consult with the qualified leads assigned to you by the company
- Source and develop some new leads of your own
- Meet clients in our Lane Cove West showroom and understand their needs, style and budget
- Record client requirements accurately and pass them to our dedicated joinery designers
- Present the designers' proposals to clients and answer their questions with confidence
- Guide clients through to a signed contract
- Keep client records and follow-ups up to date
Paid training in China
After you are hired, you will complete a 3-month paid training program at our company headquarters in Hefei, China. Return airfare and accommodation are provided by the company. The training is intensive and covers our products, joinery systems, design-to-production process and sales approach. On completing the 3 months, you return to Australia and start work directly with us.
What this role does NOT include
No design work. Concept design and detailed joinery design are handled entirely by our dedicated designers. Your focus is client consultation, conversion and sales.
What you'll bring
- Experience in client-facing sales or consultation, ideally in interiors, kitchens, joinery or home improvement
- Professional fluency in Mandarin and English, spoken and written (essential)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust face to face
- A good eye for interiors and an interest in high-end residential finishes
- Organised, reliable and target-driven
- Full Australian working rights
- Willing and able to travel to China for the 3-month training program
Salary and benefits
Base salary: $5,000 per month before tax ($60,000 per year). Superannuation: 12% on top, a total package of $67,200. Uncapped commission: 3% of 80% of the contract value (ex-GST) on every contract you sign. Example: a $1,100,000 contract including GST is $1,000,000 ex-GST; 80% of that is $800,000; 3% of that is $24,000 in commission. The majority of qualified leads supplied by the company. Work from our new high-end showroom in Lane Cove West (expected to open in February).
