About Eat Club
Eat Club is one of Australia's fastest-growing consumer technology companies.
We help people eat out more often at great restaurants, while helping restaurants fill otherwise empty tables on their own terms.
Today, Eat Club connects 3M+ diners with 10,000 restaurants across 18 cities.
Co-founded by Marco Pierre White, we're expanding internationally and building a category-defining dining platform.
The opportunity
Millions of people have discovered Eat Club. Our next opportunity is making Eat Club a regular part of how they choose where to eat.
As Head of Retention, you'll own how we turn first-time diners into regulars, grow repeat transaction frequency and increase long-term customer value across Australia, the UK and New Zealand.
You'll lead an established lifecycle team and have real scope to shape the systems, experiments and product experiences that drive our next stage of growth.
This is bigger than CRM.
The answer might be a better onboarding experience, a different incentive, smarter restaurant discovery, stronger loyalty mechanics or an entirely new experiment.
We want someone who can diagnose the real problem, make a commercial call, mobilise the right people and deliver measurable impact.
- What you will own
- Set the global retention strategy across early repeat, habit, transaction frequency, reactivation and lifetime value.
- Find the biggest opportunities in customer cohorts and behaviour, prioritise ruthlessly and turn insight into a focused roadmap.
- Build a high-tempo experimentation program with clear hypotheses, appropriate controls and decisions grounded in incremental value.
- Shape how loyalty, Dining Credit, Caviar Reserve, referrals and incentives change behaviour while protecting customer economics.
- Partner deeply with Product, Data, Finance, Acquisition and Commercial to improve experiences and address root causes beyond marketing channels.
- Lead two Lifecycle Marketing Managers and raise the quality, speed, automation and effectiveness of our customer engagement engine.
What you bring
- A track record owning meaningful retention, engagement or customer growth outcomes in a scaled consumer business.
Your impact is measurable, and you can explain what actually caused it.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking. You understand cohorts, experimentation, incrementality, customer economics and the difference between activity and real growth.
- Product-led instincts. You know when a campaign is the answer and when a customer experience, supply or product problem needs fixing.
- Commercial confidence with incentives and trade-offs, plus the ability to defend investment decisions with senior leaders.
- High standards, pace and ownership. You move through ambiguity, make decisions with imperfect information and bring others with you.
- The ability to coach and develop great marketers, set clear accountability and scale a function without becoming its bottleneck.
Experience in a high-frequency app, marketplace, delivery, mobility, loyalty, fintech or subscription business would be valuable.
We care more about the scale of your thinking and what you've achieved than a perfect title or background.
- This might not be your role if
- You see retention primarily as an email, push or campaign calendar.
- You struggle to explain the commercial or incremental impact of past work.
- You need a stable roadmap, perfect data or extensive direction before acting.
- You prefer working within your own function over solving problems across Product, Data and the wider business.
- Why Eat Club
You'll join a business with a loved product, meaningful consumer scale, international ambition and an unusually large opportunity to improve how frequently people dine out.
The foundations are in place.
The next Head of Retention gets to build something that compounds.
If you've built growth systems that change how customers behave, and you want the ownership to do it again at Eat Club, we'd love to hear from you.
