Easylift Garage Doors, one of Queensland's leading garage door, automatic gate and automation companies, is looking for a motivated Trainee Installer / Trade Assistant (Offsider) to join our Cairns team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, has a positive attitude and wants to develop practical skills in a specialised industry.
Previous garage door industry experience is not required – full training will be provided to the right person.
About the Role
Working alongside our experienced installers, you will receive on‑the‑job training in:
- Installation of domestic and industrial garage doors and roller shutters
- Servicing, maintenance and repairs of garage doors and roller shutters
- Installation, servicing and repairs of automatic door and gate systems
- Installation and replacement of motors and automation equipment
- Installation of window shutters
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience using hand and power tools
- A current driver's licence (manual preferred)
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- A neat and professional presentation
- A willingness to learn new skills and take on responsibility
- A Construction White Card or willingness to obtain one
Bonus Skills & Qualifications (Not Essential)
- Welding experience
- Current forklift licence
- Previous garage door or construction industry experience
- Scissor lift licence
