We are seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Boilermaker/Welder to join our workshop team. This is a hands-on role suited to a trade-qualified Boilermaker/Welder who has demonstrated leadership ability and supervisory experience within a fabrication or manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping coordinate workshop activities, supporting team members and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
About the Role
- Lead and support a team of fabrication and welding personnel
- Assist with the day-to-day supervision of workshop activities
- Coordinate workflow to meet production schedules
- Carry out fabrication and welding work as required
- Ensure work is completed to required quality standards
- Promote and maintain safe work practices
- Lead by example and foster a positive team culture
- Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and less experienced employees
About You
- A relevant trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Welder
- Extensive welding and fabrication experience
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Supervisor or similar role, or demonstrated experience supervising small teams
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Proven ability to lead by example and support team performance
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality
