About the role:
We have an exciting part-time opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant to join our Care@Home Community Health program, based at Healesville and other outreach sites. As part of our Health & Ageing Team, you will support adults living in the community by delivering individual and group-based therapy programs. You will receive regular clinical supervision and professional development opportunities while working collaboratively with Occupational Therapists and the broader allied health team.
This position supports development across the Department of Health's core Allied Health Assistant competencies, including individual and group therapy, communication of patient information, and equipment and environmental management. This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with people in the community and to demonstrate your skills in communication, teamwork, initiative and administrative tasks delegated by Occupational Therapy clinicians, while working within a supportive and highly engaged team.
What you'll bring:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or recognised equivalent) with relevant Occupational Therapy discipline modules
- Minimum 3 years' full-time equivalent Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant experience
- Current Victorian Driver's License
- Ability to lead the Allied Health Assistant student program under the direction and operational/professional supervision of an Allied Health Professional
- Commitment to confidentiality, professional boundaries and safe care
- Understanding of Community Health target populations
- Strong effective communication skills including handover of clinical information
- Proven time management strategies, organisational and prioritisation skills
What we offer:
- Investment in your career through continuous learning, mentoring, professional development, and opportunities to progress into specialist, leadership or advanced practice pathways.
- Work-life balance with flexible working arrangements, study and professional development leave, and leave purchasing options.
- Wellbeing support through fitness programs, confidential employee assistance services for you and your family, and 24/7 access to a range of support resources.
- Financial incentives to help you make the most of your earnings, including salary packaging through Maxxia, novated leasing options, and employee discounts on health insurance, banking and more.
