This is a hands-on commercial role covering estimating, tendering, procurement, contracts administration and project cost control. You will be involved from the early pricing stage through to project delivery, helping ensure that what we price, purchase and administer accurately reflects the client requirements and protects the project budget.
To succeed in this role, you will be technically minded, commercially aware, highly organised and confident reading construction documentation. You will have strong communication skills, be able to problem-solve and take ownership of the detail.
Estimator / Contracts Administrator Responsibilities:
· Review and cross-reference plans, drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
· Prepare project estimates, cost plans and tender proposals.
· Obtain, compare and level subcontractor and supplier quotations.
· Develop clear trade scopes, inclusions, exclusions, allowances and tender clarifications.
· Ensure proposals and project budgets accurately reflect the documentation and client requirements.
· Prepare and issue purchase orders, subcontract agreements and supplier orders.
· Manage procurement, lead times and commercial commitments against project budgets.
· Cost and document client and subcontractor variations.
· Check supplier / subcontractor invoices and progress claims against approved commitments.
· Maintain project forecasts, committed costs and cost-to-complete information.
· Assist with building permits, engineering, consultant documentation and project approvals.
· Maintain accurate project, contract and compliance records within company systems.
· Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the Construction Manager to support successful project delivery.
What we are looking for:
· Forward thinking and use of AI to streamline processes
· Construction industry experience, ideally within commercial fitout.
· Experience in estimating, contracts administration, quantity surveying or a similar commercial role.
· Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
· Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
· Strong time management and organisational ability.
· Very good written, verbal, computer and listening skills.
· A humble, energetic and accountable approach with a willingness to learn.
· Medical / healthcare fitout experience is advantageous but not essential.
If you have strong construction experience and the drive to develop across both estimating and contracts administration, we are open to training the right person.
