About the role

We’re looking for a practical all-rounder with strong hands-on skills who wants a role with variety. You might come from an automotive trade assistant role, or a background in accessory fitting, mechanical work, fabrication, auto electrical or another practical field.

Key responsibilities (depending on skills and experience):

  • Install and integrate hand controls, wheelchair access equipment, hoists and seating systems
  • Vehicle electrical integration and tapping into factory functions
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
  • Measure, cut, drill, weld and fabricate custom parts
  • Capture job notes, photos, videos and procedures so knowledge stays in the business
  • Work with in-house design capability: Fusion 360 CAD, 3D printing and a CNC router (2400 x 1200 mm) where interested

About you:

  • Trade certified preferred or hands-on experience in automotive, auto electrical, mechanical, fabrication, welding or a similar trade
  • Practical problem solver who stays curious when a job is unfamiliar
  • Takes initiative, works independently and asks when unsure
  • Takes pride in workmanship and in looking after customers' vehicles and workshop standards
  • Happy to pitch in wherever needed
  • Experience with disability equipment, CAD or technical documentation is a bonus

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute, learn and improve. The role can develop around the right person's strengths while exposing them to a much broader range of technical work.
