A place where you can do meaningful work and feel supported doing it. At Down South Therapy, we’ve built something that we’re genuinely proud of. Not just the work we do, but how we do it, and how we show up for each other along the way.
Our multidisciplinary team includes speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and psychologists working together with a shared focus on meaningful, functional outcomes for the people we support. Collaboration here is part of everyday practice. It looks like real conversations, shared problem-solving, and learning alongside each other in a way that feels respectful and connected.
We place a strong emphasis on psychological safety and neuroaffirming practice, both in how we support our clients and how we support each other as a team. You’ll be joining a workplace where your ideas are welcomed, your growth is supported, and you are encouraged to work in a way that aligns with your values as a clinician. We also recognise that sustainable, high-quality work comes from clinicians who feel supported and well. Wellbeing, connection, and manageable workloads are prioritised so you can do your best work without burning out.
As a Speech Pathologist Team Leader or Senior Clinician at Down South Therapy, you will support children, adolescents, and adults to develop communication skills that are meaningful in their everyday lives, while also playing a key role in supporting and guiding other clinicians within the team. You will work across a mix of environments, including our Vasse clinic, local schools, and community settings.
In addition to your clinical role, you will have the opportunity to mentor and support a small group of therapists or contribute as a senior clinician within the team, depending on your level of experience and interest. This role also provides the opportunity to contribute to shaping the speech pathology service within our multidisciplinary team, including supporting clinical consistency, contributing to team development, and helping to guide service direction over time.
Your role will include:
- Delivering both individual and group therapy
- Working collaboratively with families, educators, and other professionals
- Developing and implementing individualised, functional therapy plans
- Contributing to a transdisciplinary team approach
- Providing supervision, mentoring, or clinical support to other therapists
- Contributing to team learning, service development, and clinical initiatives
We structure caseloads and schedules intentionally, including location-based planning, to reduce travel demands and support a sustainable pace of work. There is flexibility to shape your caseload and leadership contribution in line with your strengths and areas of interest.
A genuinely collaborative multidisciplinary team where input is valued. A psychologically safe environment where you can ask questions, reflect, and grow. A neuroaffirming, relationship-based approach to practice. Regular supervision, mentoring, and opportunities for professional development. A strong focus on team connection, without pressure to “perform” culture. A workplace that values consistency, respect, and realistic expectations.
We offer a comprehensive package designed to support both your professional growth and wellbeing, including:
