Dolphins NRL | Full-time, Permanent | Redcliffe
About us
The Dolphins are a professional rugby league team in the National Rugby League (NRL). Founded in 1947, the Club has a long history in grassroots rugby league and the community. The Dolphins sit within the Dolphins Group, a diversified business with various revenue streams, including an aquatic/fitness centre and a shopping centre. The Group currently turns over $50+ million annually and has an asset portfolio worth over $100 million.
Success for the Dolphins involves not only winning matches on the field and trophies for the cabinet, but also improving and growing our players, staff, and community off the field in all their endeavours. It also means expanding the NRL and rugby league amongst new markets and potential fans.
About the role
When our members call the Club, you’ll be the first person they speak to. Reporting to the Head of Membership & Ticketing, you’ll be part of a close-knit team that looks after more than 30,000 members, from the moment they join, through every renewal and match day.
This is a hands-on role that mixes service and sales. One minute you’ll be fixing a member’s seating issue, the next you’ll be calling members about their renewal. If you like being busy and enjoy talking to people, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
- Answer inbound calls, emails and live chats quickly and with a friendly, can-do attitude
- Own every member issue and resolve it, whether it’s about seating, renewals, payments or match-day access
- Deliver great service on every call, face to face and in writing
- Keep our members on board
- Run outbound renewal and retention calls to current, unrenewed and lapsed members
- Spot opportunities to upgrade members to the membership that best suits them
- Promote and sell membership at community events and on Dolphins match days
- Help deliver membership campaigns and retention strategies that hit Club targets
- Keep things running smoothly
- Handle day-to-day membership and ticketing operations, including processing, fulfilment, seat allocation and admin
- Keep our CRM accurate and up to date
- Support the membership team at all Dolphins home games
- Work closely with teams across the Club
About you
You love talking to people and you’re confident picking up the phone, whether you’re sorting out a member’s problem or calling them about a renewal. You take ownership of problems, stay calm when things get busy, and take pride in getting the details right.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in a phone-based customer service, contact centre or sales role (essential)
- A service-first attitude with the confidence to sell
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
- Great organisation and multitasking skills, with a sharp eye for detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability for home games, events and some weekend work
- Experience in sport, entertainment or events
- Membership or ticketing experience
- An understanding of professional sporting culture and a passion for rugby league
