Registered Nurse, Medical Practice Nurse, RN in Sydney

Shire Doctors & Dentists is looking for a motivated, compassionate and proactive Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. We are a modern, private-billing multidisciplinary medical centre committed to providing high-quality healthcare and an excellent patient experience to the Sutherland Shire community. Conveniently located at the intersection of Kingsway and Taren Point Road in Caringbah, our practice is only a short walk from Caringbah train station and close to Sutherland Hospital.

• Position: Practice Nurse – General Practice
• Employment: Part-time / Casual
• Location: Caringbah, NSW
• Availability: Monday to Wednesday
• Working hours: Shifts between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm
• Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with current clinical guidelines and best practice.
• Patient triage and clinical assessment.
• Immunisations and travel vaccinations.
• IV cannulation skills and experience are highly regarded.
• Wound care and management.
• Chronic disease management and preventative health.
• ECGs and pathology specimen collection.
• Assist doctors with clinical and minor procedures.
• Provide patient education and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate and appropriate clinical documentation.
• Contact patients regarding results or follow-up as directed by doctors.
• Support patient care planning and coordination with other healthcare providers.
• Maintain clinical stock and supplies, including ordering and monitoring expiry dates.
• Maintain vaccine refrigeration and cold-chain requirements.
• Support infection control, accreditation and clinical compliance requirements.
• Maintain appropriate standards of privacy, confidentiality and professional conduct.

• Works well with doctors, nurses, reception staff, allied health professionals and other healthcare providers.
• Knowledge of Medicare item numbers and general practice software, which would be an advantage.
• Comfortable assisting with telephone enquiries, appointments, correspondence and other administrative tasks when required.
