Owner driver Central Coast & Newcastle

Doble Express Transport is seeking an Owner Driver for the Central Coast & Newcastle region. This is a full-time position based in Newcastle NSW 2300 OR the Central Coast NSW 2250, offering an excellent opportunity for an independent operator to build a successful business whilst partnering with an established transport and logistics company. As an owner driver, you will be responsible for managing your own vehicle and operations whilst delivering reliable courier and transport services across the Central Coast and Newcastle areas. This role is pivotal to our operations, ensuring timely and professional delivery of parcels and freight to our valued customers.

What you'll be doing

• Operating your own vehicle to collect and deliver parcels and freight across the Central Coast and Newcastle regions
• Maintaining professional customer service standards and building strong relationships with clients
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with safety and compliance requirements
• Managing vehicle maintenance and fuel costs to optimise operational efficiency
• Recording and reporting delivery information accurately using company systems and procedures
• Planning and optimising delivery routes to maximise efficiency and reduce fuel consumption
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and management regarding job updates and any issues encountered
• Complying with all traffic laws, transport regulations and company policies at all times
• Maintaining a professional appearance and conduct when representing Doble Express Transport

What we're looking for

• A current, valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence or equivalent
• Proven experience as an owner driver or courier driver in the transport and logistics industry
• A reliable, well-maintained vehicle suitable for courier and freight operations (vehicle specifications to be discussed)
• Excellent knowledge of the Central Coast and Newcastle regions, with strong route planning capabilities
• A professional approach to customer service and communication
• Strong organisational and time management skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
• Ability to work independently whilst maintaining accountability and reliability
• Current First Aid certification (preferred)
• A clean driving record and commitment to road safety
• Insurance and business registration as required by law
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including early starts and occasional weekend work as required
