Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Work directly with prisoners at Mount Gambier Prison.
- Participate in prisoner case management and monitor rehabilitation activities.
- Conduct daily searches and counts, perform security patrols.
- Write case notes and prepare reports.
- Complete comprehensive training including standard operating procedures, self-defence, radio communication, report writing, first aid & CPR, incident response, x-ray and ion scan screening, and fire training.
About You
The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Able to work a rotating 24/7 roster including weekdays, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Holder of an Australian driver's licence.
- Physically fit and able to pass a medical assessment.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Able to commence employment in March 2027.
- No prior corrections experience or qualifications required; life skills are highly valued.
Compensation & Benefits
- Approximate salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 per annum plus superannuation and overtime.
- Hourly rates: $32.47 during training, $39.98 in the first year after training, and $43.24 once fully accredited.
- Seven weeks of paid annual leave.
- Paid training leading to a Certificate III in Correctional Practice.
