Senior Logistics Operations & Dispatch Lead in Brisbane

DKR Logistics Pty Ltd is a privately owned Transport and Logistics company working directly for a single client who is a large player in the distribution of groceries all over Queensland. Based at Crestmead, on the clients’ site, we currently perform over 500 deliveries per day with a mix of specialised company and sub-contractor vehicles. The role involves managing the DKR team who are despatching transport routes for that day’s deliveries, allocating trucks, trailers, loading docks and drivers. You will manage 7 long term supervisors to ensure the site is running efficiently every day.

Responsibilities:

• Management and coaching of Supervisor and Load Planning staff.
• Maintaining and controlling customer and company daily and weekly KPI’s to a high standard.
• Liaising with Drivers, loading staff and Customers to resolve issues, improve efficiencies in the fleet and maintain standards with Safety Standards and COR requirements.
• Performance management of staff.
• Liaise with the fleet team in relation to service and maintenance requirements.
• Manage work allocation to ensure all services are up to date and forward planning maximised.

Experience and Skills:

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Excel is essential.
• Good computer skills and experience working with Transport Management Systems.
• Strong transport background or similar experience in a Scheduling and Maintenance role.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work under pressure whilst achieving deadlines.
• Able to multi-task, share team responsibilities to maintain maximum monitoring level of prompt, efficient and courteous customer service.
• Flexible approach to work to operate effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a transport environment, ideally in a logistics operational role, with good knowledge of SE Queensland, Northern NSW regional areas ideal.
• Proven understanding of Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility.
