Distro-Tex is a proudly South Australian–owned powerline and electrical company with depots in Welland and Kadina. We specialise in Construction & Maintenance of Distribution Power Systems and AS3000 installations — work that keeps communities connected across the state. We’re a tight-knit family company. Our people aren’t just a line on the org chart — they’re the reason we succeed. Without our team, we don’t deliver, and we run the business that way: looking after each other on the job and off it.

Culture matters to us. We value team cohesion and make time to connect beyond the day-to-day — from an annual AFL Corporate Box and Christmas events, we will value you as a person, not just an employee.

The role requires a hands‑on systems champion who will help build & shape how Distro‑Tex works day to day. We’re transitioning our ERP from AroFlo to Simpro. You’ll drive and champion the development and adoption of Simpro alongside the senior management team — building procedures, templates, business workflows, structure and the system our business uses to quote, schedule and execute work as well as track the financial progress. Beyond Simpro, you’ll also own how we use other business systems such as Mitti (SafetyCulture) — this involves reviewing current frameworks, shaping how we capture WHS data, and helping us keep our people and equipment safe onsite. You’ll support Microsoft 365, Dropbox and Google Workspace too, and use real autonomy to recommend where we can consolidate, streamline and improve process consistency across the company.

This role suits someone with experience in systems enhancement and business improvement initiatives — someone who can work collaboratively across teams and influence outcomes without direct authority, bringing people with them rather than relying on hierarchy.

Key responsibilities

  • Champion Simpro development, adoption and implementation across the business
  • Design and create business workflows, procedures, templates and system structure with senior management
  • Drive Distro‑Tex’s transition from AroFlo to Simpro
  • Assessment & Re‑design of Mitti (SafetyCulture) — WHS data capture, inspections, and processes that keep our people and equipment safe onsite
  • Lead and contribute to systems enhancement and business improvement initiatives
  • Drive operational consistency in how work is executed through our systems
  • Work collaboratively across field, office and leadership teams to embed change
  • Support and administer business platforms including Microsoft 365, Dropbox and Google Workspace
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate tools and streamline processes
  • Make sound, autonomous recommendations and decisions that improve how the business runs
  • Train and support users as new processes and system changes roll out

Requirements

  • Proven experience in systems enhancement and business improvement initiatives
  • Strong Microsoft 365, Cloud‑Based Software & ERP experience
  • Experience with ERP / job management system transitions or implementations
  • Experience creating and embedding business workflows and process documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence outcomes without direct authority
  • Strong systems / process coordination experience in a business operations environment
  • Confidence working across multiple software platforms
  • Ability to work autonomously and make practical decisions
  • Clear communicator who can translate process into steps people will follow
  • Unrestricted rights to live and work in Australia
  • Highly preferred Tertiary qualifications in business, information systems or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Experience with Mitti / SafetyCulture or similar WHS / inspection platforms
  • Familiarity with Dropbox and/or Google Workspace
  • Experience in construction, electrical, utilities or field‑service environments

Salary & benefits

  • Base salary $85,000 – $105,000 per year + 13% superannuation, depending on experience, proven history and negotiation with management
  • Performance‑based incentive opportunities linked to agreed KPIs, negotiated with management
  • 4 weeks annual leave
  • 10 days personal / sick leave
  • 17.5% leave loading
  • 16 weeks primary parental leave

What we offer

  • A newly created role with real ownership and influence
  • Direct work with senior management on how the business runs
  • Genuine family‑company culture that puts people first
  • Opportunity to shape Distro‑Tex’s systems and WHS data foundation for years ahead
  • Based at Welland, with a proud SA‑owned powerline and electrical business
