About DevSec

DevSec is a Queensland security, electronics and concierge business looking after corporate and commercial clients across Brisbane. We deliver a premium, people-first service, and we back our people with direct, constant support from their management team. We work as one team: we help each other out, share what we know and present as one professional crew in front of every client.

The role

We are bringing more of our patrol work in-house and need a hands-on Patrol Supervisor to lead it. Reporting to our Operations Manager, you will run the day-to-day delivery of our day and night mobile patrols, lead and look after the patrol team, and make sure every patrol, alarm response and call-out is done properly and on time. This role has a future. As our patrol division grows, so does the opportunity for career progression, and we want to grow our leaders from within.

What you will do

  • Build the day and night patrol roster to meet client requirements within contracted hours and cost, working with our Service Delivery Administrator
  • Keep overtime to a minimum and flag coverage or cost risks early
  • Make sure every scheduled patrol is completed and every checkpoint is scanned in TrackTik
  • Brief, supervise and mentor patrol officers across day and night shifts, and lead by example on DevSec standards
  • Coordinate the response to alarms and call-outs, and escalate incidents in line with our procedures
  • Check incident and occurrence reports for accuracy and timeliness before they go to clients
  • Run lone worker welfare checks and pre-shift vehicle and equipment checks
  • Make sure every officer on shift holds a current licence and site induction, and raise site issues early
  • Step into patrols and respond yourself when the team needs it

What you will bring

  • A current, unrestricted Queensland security provider licence (security officer function)
  • Certificate II in Security Operations or higher
  • A current open (not provisional) driver licence and a good driving record
  • Current first aid and CPR certificates
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • At least 2 years of mobile patrol experience, including alarm response
  • At least 12 months leading security officers, as a supervisor, team leader, 2IC or site supervisor
  • Experience building or managing rosters
  • Confidence with digital patrol and reporting apps (TrackTik or similar) and clear written reports
  • Calm judgement under pressure, and availability for early mornings, nights, weekends and an on-call rotation

Great to have:

  • Certificate III in Security Operations
  • Experience with SimPRO
  • A working knowledge of the Security Services Industry Award and fatigue management
  • Experience with corporate and commercial patrol clients in Brisbane

What we offer

  • A salary based on your experience, plus super
  • A company patrol vehicle on shift, a work phone and full uniform
  • Career progression as the patrol division grows
  • A management team that is on the phone and on the ground when you need it
