We want to hear from you.

About us

The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.

What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.

We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.

We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

The work area

RevenueWA

collects revenue on behalf of the Government and pays grants and subsidies to Western Australians. Although a business unit within DTF, the Commissioner of State Revenue is an independent statutory role and is personally responsible for the administration of State taxation and grant laws by RevenueWA staff. This administrative function covers the application of duties, land tax and payroll tax laws, as well as carrying out compliance audits and investigations, and developing revenue related legislation. RevenueWA increases taxpayer awareness through education programs and manages the legislative appeals process.

The opportunity

Are you passionate about leadership, problem solving and have a customer-centric mindset? We are looking for a motivated person to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. In this role, you will:

  • use your highly developed communication, negotiation and collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • be passionate about sharing knowledge and building capability across the Business Systems and Support team.
  • leverage from previous experience in analysis and testing of Information Technology systems to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement and be able to translate ideas into clear requirements.

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for leading a team of business analysts and system support staff, undertaking complex problem investigations, and developing business requirements and business process documents. The role ensures the effective day-to-day administration of RevenueWA business systems and provides a key integration point between business users and technical resources.

We currently have one (1) permanent full-time position available for filling within the Business Systems and Support team.
