Senior Scientist - Paddock to Reef Program
Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation QLD β Parkhurst QLD
A rare opportunity to join the historic Brigalow Catchment Study as a Senior Scientist (PO4) supporting the Paddock to Reef Program.
Want your science to influence how Queensland manages some of Australia's most important grazing landscapes and Great Barrier Reef catchments?
We're seeking an experienced Senior Scientist to join our Rockhampton team and contribute to the Paddock to Reef Integrated Monitoring, Modelling and Reporting Program. In this role, you'll lead the analysis, interpretation and communication of findings from nationally significant grazing and catchment monitoring projects, including the long-running Brigalow Catchment Study (Department of Environment, Science and Innovation).
Working alongside leading scientists, industry partners and government agencies, you'll generate evidence that informs land management decisions, shapes policy and supports productive agricultural systems and improved environmental outcomes.
You'll provide scientific leadership for monitoring projects across the Fitzroy Basin, analyse complex environmental datasets, develop reports and publications and contribute to research that improves understanding of the links between grazing management, productivity, soil condition and water quality.
This is an opportunity to work with unique long-term datasets, collaborate with recognised experts and contribute to science that has a direct influence on program investment, management practice and environmental outcomes. If you're passionate about delivering impactful science that benefits both Queensland's grazing industries and Great Barrier Reef catchments, we'd love to hear from you.
