The School Wongan Hills DHS is a medium-sized district high school situated less than 2 hours' drive north-east of Perth in the stunning Wheatbelt. The school caters for over 200 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The town offers a variety of quality shopping environments to suit a country lifestyle and has an impressive range of sporting and other groups and excellent facilities to foster opportunities to be part of the community.

The Role Teachers who can teach across two or more learning areas will be highly regarded. Graduates, teachers considering the LEAP Program and primary teachers interested in exploring secondary teaching are also encouraged to apply. Suitable applicants should be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a highly supportive learning environment. Flexibility and teamwork within a DHS context is ideal for this role, as is a commitment to personal and professional growth. Suitable applicants will ideally exhibit high standards of professionalism and embrace opportunities for collaboration within the school community.

It will be highly regarded if suitable applicants can develop a supportive and positive classroom environment, use quality differentiation within the classroom, display effective behaviour support skills, possess effective interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team. Our school is committed to the use of whole school approaches and it is desirable that teachers at our school adopt our instructional playbook, programs and frameworks relevant to the year levels you would be teaching. Currently our school uses Elastik, Teachwell and Ochre Education. Experience with these programs would be favourably regarded, however that should not deter an applicant without knowledge of these programs from applying. Professional learning will be provided if required. Both graduate and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.

Our vision is to pursue excellence by empowering and inspiring our students to become life-long learners. We encourage inclusivity and high quality teaching and learning to nurture student well-being, resilience and success through a range of classroom experiences and community collaboration. In 2021, we were acknowledged with a Recognition of Academic Excellence by the Department of Education. This is an achievement that we are immensely proud of.
