The Product Manager leads the product management capability for a technology product or service that supports departmental and business outcomes. The role is responsible for establishing and continuously improving product management practices, including discovery, experience design, business analysis, functional design, backlog prioritisation, release preparation, business readiness, documentation, operational acceptance, financial oversight and risk management. Working closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, platform teams, vendors and system integrators, the Product Manager provides clear product direction and advice to support prioritisation, sequencing and delivery decisions.
The role operates as a central point of coordination for product planning and change, balancing value, risk, dependencies, capacity and operational readiness, while retaining accountability for departmental outcomes delivered through internal teams and external partners.
