Working alongside top-tier Project Managers, you will support project planning, construction readiness, field coordination, and closeout in active laboratory, research, and technical facilities.
We’re looking for someone who brings strong organization, curiosity, and a sense of urgency—someone who takes ownership of assigned responsibilities, follows through on commitments, and proactively identifies issues that need attention.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in advancing multiple concurrent projects, coordinating with contractors, designers, vendors, and client stakeholders.
- Take ownership of assigned project actions, confirm responsible parties and due dates, follow up on commitments, and escalated unresolved issues or constraints early.
- Organize and maintain project documentation, including drawings, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, equipment logs, permit logs, etc.
- Prepare meeting agendas, document decisions and action items, and track follow-up activities through completion.
- Support construction readiness by tracking design deliverables, contractor proposals, approvals, permits, and required preconstruction documentation.
- Read, digest and track milestone schedules, gather schedule updates, and flag delays or dependencies that could affect project delivery.
- Assist Project Managers with tracking proposals, change requests, and cost information, maintaining accurate records for review and decision-making.
- Participate in field walks, document construction progress and field observations, and track quality concerns through resolution with the Project Manager and contractor.
- Support coordination of site access and activities within occupied facilities, following established safety, security and operating procedures.
- Coordinate punch lists, turnover documentation, and other closeout requirements.
- Keep project information current in shared systems and contribute ideas to improve team workflows and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related technical field.
- Two or more years of experience in construction project engineering, construction coordination, or a related project delivery role.
- Familiarity with construction documents, project workflows, and field execution.
- Ability to work on-site and travel between project locations across multiple campuses in the Pacific Northwest.
- Required Skills and Experience
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities across multiple projects.
- Demonstrated initiative and dependable follow-through, with the ability to advance assigned work independently while recognizing when to seek direction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documents.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including concise meeting documentation and project updates.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain accountability.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, spreadsheets, shared document platforms, and project tracking tools; familiarity with scheduling software is a plus.
- Working knowledge of building systems and an interest in developing technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other specialized systems.
- Attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
- Experience in laboratories, cleanrooms, prototyping facilities, or active campus environments is a plus.
Why Join Us?
- Contribute to complex technical projects in innovative research and development environments.
- Work alongside an experienced, collaborative team with clear processes and high standards for project delivery.
- Build hands‑on experience across the project lifecycle, with mentorship and opportunities to take on greater responsibility as your capabilities develop.
