A great opportunity to lead a specialist team tackling some of Queensland’s most important property and client protection matters. Working in-house, you’ll play a key role ensuring fairness for clients (often elderly or disadvantaged), protecting their rights in leasing and property transactions, and leading litigation that really makes a difference.

The Role

  • Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 lawyers/paralegals at varying levels of experience.
  • Provide high-quality legal advice on property, leasing, and related civil law issues.
  • Represent the organisation in civil litigation and property-related disputes.
  • Manage a steady litigation-heavy caseload while maintaining 3–4 billable hours per day.
  • Ensure client outcomes are fair and free from exploitation.
  • Contribute to a supportive, ethical, and inclusive workplace culture.

About You

  • At least 5 years post-admission legal experience (civil/property law highly regarded).
  • Eligible for a practising certificate in Queensland (and High Court register).
  • Skilled in litigation, ideally with exposure to leasing, property, or trusts.
  • Strong leadership capability with a track record of mentoring junior lawyers.
  • Private practice experience welcome — particularly if you’re looking to move into a purpose-driven in-house role.

What’s on Offer

  • Secure permanent role within a respected in-house legal team.
  • Chance to influence outcomes for vulnerable Queenslanders.
  • Litigation-heavy, diverse caseload with leadership responsibilities.
  • Generous public sector benefits: up to 12.75% super, leave loading, flexible work.
  • Part of a 12-month talent pool – opportunities may arise beyond this position.
