Darumatic is an IT Consultancy and Recruitment Services Company that focuses on cloud-native technologies and modern software development. Our mission is to help clients to "Build better software". We are passionate about collaborating with clients to transform their development and infrastructure teams to become truly cloud-native. Our supportive, innovation-driven culture provides continuous opportunities to expand your technical skills, work with cutting-edge platforms, and connect with vibrant IT professional networks. We believe in mutually beneficial professional relationships, and your career growth with us is our top priority.

About The Role

Darumatic is seeking a talented DevOps / Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Red Hat OpenShift, GitLab, and AI-driven infrastructure/MLOps to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain enterprise OpenShift clusters, optimize software delivery using GitLab CI/CD and GitOps, and support the onboarding of AI/ML workloads and modern AI-assisted DevOps workflows. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, data science teams, QA specialists, and security stakeholders to build robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • OpenShift Infrastructure Management: Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise Red Hat OpenShift clusters across cloud (ROSA, ARO) and hybrid environments. Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and seamless operator management.
  • GitLab CI/CD & GitOps: Design, implement, and streamline advanced CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI. Automate deployment workflows for microservices using GitOps practices (e.g., GitLab Agent for Kubernetes, Argo CD).
  • AI & MLOps Integration: Enable and support infrastructure for AI/ML workloads using Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHODS) or similar orchestration tools. Implement AI-driven DevOps automation and monitor performance for containerised AI models.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate platform provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps methodologies.
  • Observability & DevSecOps: Implement centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift Logging/Service Mesh). Embed security controls within GitLab pipelines and enforce container runtime security.
  • Secrets & Compliance: Manage secrets securely using HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, or OpenShift Secrets management tools while enforcing least-privilege RBAC.

Skills & Experience

  • OpenShift Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience managing enterprise Red Hat OpenShift (OCP, ROSA, or ARO) environments in production.
  • GitLab Mastery: Deep expertise with the GitLab ecosystem, including complex pipeline creation, runner management, security scanning (SAST/DAST), and GitOps deployment patterns.
  • AI / MLOps Foundations: Experience supporting AI/ML workloads, GPU acceleration enablement on Kubernetes/OpenShift, or leveraging AI-driven tools/AIOps within CI/CD and operational workflows.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Strong proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, and custom scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Containerisation & Networking: Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture, Helm charts, ingress controllers, CNI plugins, and service meshes (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh / Istio).
  • DevSecOps Integration: Proven track record of integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and hardening container environments.

Desirables

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration / Architecture.
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHODS), Kubeflow, or training/serving LLM workloads on Kubernetes.
  • GitLab Certified Associate or Professional credentials.
  • Familiarity with advanced cloud observability tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, or native OpenShift Observability).

Work Eligibility

Candidates must hold full Australian Working Rights (Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
