Head of Department - Retail Property Management
Why this role?
Assuming full responsibility for performance, development and profitable growth, you won't be coming in to maintain the status quo - this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to influence and drive the next chapter of Retail Property Management for Cygnet West.
Reporting to the CEO, you will inherit an established team of experienced property management, centre management and administration capability.
Here, you will have license to think commercially and to pose business-critical questions - where are the key opportunities for growth? What clients and portfolios should we pursue? How can we leverage our insight and technology to maximise our clients’ return on their property assets? And how should the division continue to evolve, for both our people and our clients?
Your focus will include:
- Setting and delivering strategic direction
- Identifying and converting opportunities to grow the portfolio
- Building strong, long-term relationships with clients, prospective clients and industry partners
- Driving commercial and financial performance, including budgeting and forecasting
- Leading, developing and empowering an experienced team of 30
- Building a departmental structure that is scalable, accountable and positioned for continued, sustainable growth
- Driving operational excellence, consistent service delivery and continuous improvement
- Strengthening Cygnet West’s market presence and competitive position within the retail property management sector
- Working collaboratively across Cygnet West to identify and facilitate broader client and business opportunities.
About you
We are looking for an accomplished senior leader who combines strong property expertise with commercial instinct, high emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust, influence effectively and inspire confidence across the business.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Significant experience in retail and/or commercial property management, including major or multi-site portfolios
- Demonstrated leadership of high-performing teams, including senior level and experienced property professionals
- A strong track record in business development and profitable growth, including developing and delivering strategic client solutions with expert authority
- Sound commercial and financial capability including budgets, forecasting and reporting, key indicators and overall portfolio performance
- Excellent communication skills, strong relationships, industry credibility and the ability to network effectively across the WA property market
- The ability to develop trusted relationships and build confidence with owners, clients and other key stakeholders as a respected subject matter expert
- Experience evolving and refining structures, systems and operating models to support business growth
- A leadership style that combines clear expectations, accountability and genuine commitment to investment in people
- Relevant property qualifications and licensing appropriate to the position.
