We are seeking a Senior Communications Engineer to join a small, specialist engineering team working on a large-scale communications integration program. This is a contract opportunity and due to the nature of our clients work, You must be an Australian Citizen to be considered with an active Mid level AGSVA security clearance highly regarded.
The Role
This senior role spans satellite communications, radio systems and network integration. You’ll work alongside engineering, integration and industry partners to solve complex technical problems and deliver secure, reliable communications solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to program scope and help deliver capability within agreed parameters
- Carry out complex engineering work across configuration management, security accreditation, certification, system reviews and change management
- Help shape system design, delivery and sustainment strategies
- Oversee and witness contractor-led system testing
- Identify, manage and mitigate technical risk
- Advise a range of stakeholders, including internal teams, suppliers and partners
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing engineering team
What You’ll Bring
You’re a strong problem-solver who can work through technical complexity and turn it into clear outcomes. You build effective relationships, communicate well with diverse stakeholders, and make sure solutions meet regulatory and policy requirements. You’re comfortable planning work, recognising what matters most for success, and recommending improvements.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, or more than 12 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with communications networks , including integration
- Hands-on experience with SATCOM systems
- Experience in verification and testing of communications networks
- The ability to obtain and hold technical authority delegations
- Active Mid-Level AGSVA Security Clearance.
